“Turn the darkness into light”
Before Northern-Irish animator Tomm Moore wowed the world with The Song Of The Sea he produced this amazing animated masterpiece that tells the story of a boy called Brendan who lives in an Abbey in the middle ages. Drawing on the inspiration of the Book of Kells and celtic folk art, the film offers a stark contrast to the computer-generated lines of Hollywood –this looks really different (it deliberately lacks perspective for a start). A charming film, this tells the story of the production of the Book of Kells and Brendan’s many adventures as he journeys into adulthood. Some history is snuck in, too.
